Dementia & Cognitive Care

Specialized support for Alzheimer's, dementia, and memory loss — in the comfort of home.

Watching someone you love change with dementia is hard. Home — with its familiar rooms, routines, and faces — is often the calmest place for them to be. We help make staying there possible, and safe.

Who it’s for

  • People living with Alzheimer’s disease, other dementias, or memory loss
  • Families noticing confusion, wandering, or changes in behaviour
  • Family caregivers who need a break or guidance

How we provide care

We get to know the person behind the diagnosis: their history, what they enjoyed, what upsets them, and what soothes them. That knowledge shapes everything. Predictable routines reduce anxiety, and gentle redirection helps through confusing moments without arguments or corrections.

We keep the home safe — watching for wandering, trip hazards, and missed meals or medications — while protecting the person’s sense of purpose. Folding laundry together, looking through photos, or a short walk can matter as much as any task on a list.

Support through every stage

Dementia changes over time, and so does our support. Our registered nurses help monitor health changes, and we adjust the care plan with you as needs grow — from a few hours a week to more intensive support.

How we care

How we treat every client

Whatever the service, the person comes first — not the task list.

  • Dignity first

We knock before we enter, ask before we help, and explain what we’re doing. Privacy and modesty are protected during personal care.

  • Their choices, their routine

The care plan starts with the person — how they like their morning, what they eat, what matters to them — and we follow it.

  • Trauma-informed

Safety, trust, and respect come first. We move at the person’s pace and never force care.

  • Culturally safe

We honour each person’s culture, language, faith, and traditions, and work with families and Indigenous elders where they want us to.

  • Families stay in the loop

You’re part of the care team. We share updates, listen to what you notice, and adjust the plan with you.

  • Nurses behind the team

Registered nurses provide clinical oversight, so care workers have backup for medication, wound care, and changes in health.

More questions and answers

What if my dad refuses help or gets upset?

That's part of dementia, not a failure on anyone's part. We slow down, try again later, change the approach, and find what calms him — a favourite song, a walk, a familiar task. We never force care.

Can you help us as a family, not just the person with dementia?

Yes. Family education and caregiver coaching are part of this service — understanding what's happening, how to respond to difficult moments, and how to look after yourself too.
